San Diego is full of beautiful locations from the breezy beaches to the scenic mountains. Hands down, La Jolla is my favorite beach town for portrait sessions. The water takes on this pretty aqua tone, especially in the morning. It's worth waking up early to enjoy a quiet hour on the beach before the crowds arrive and I'm glad Tamara and Matt took my advice about heading to the beach early. Look at these gorgeous colors! Perfect for this beautiful family expecting a baby girl in just a few weeks. And can we just talk about little Eli??!? Talk about a little heart-breaker. That smile melts hearts, especially both his grandmas.

Oh La Jolla! You'll have my heart always. In early August, I spent a fun evening with Laura and Doug at Windnsea, La Jolla for their maternity portrait session. The clouds were scattered, yet created the most beautiful variety of light and brightness. It was perfect for a portrait session, creating a bit of moody, overcast images as well as sunny, vibrant moments as well. This gorgeous couple were naturals in front of the camera and ROCKED their session. They are only staying in San Diego for a few more months, so documenting their time in this beautiful beach town was a must. A maternity portrait session was the perfect way to capture their love for the ocean and the fun times they spent in San Diego. Take a peek...      Laura chose to wear our teal fitted maternity gown as well as our lace split front gown and let me tell you, they were the perfect choices for her! She is stunning and I love the bright teal against the sand, complemented by the aqua waves.      This session was one of my recent favorites. Sneak Peek! - Birthday portrait sessions and cake smashes have always been a favorite of mine. I decided to add in a little splash in the tub because what baby doesn't love water? Giggles, smiles and splashing, the perfect elements to capture that sweet baby in a moment of joy and happiness. We start with portraits of your baby to make sure we get some clean, pretty pictures before the water and frosting are involved. Add in a birthday cake and some bubbles, and you have a full hour of fun!
