My Story...
- Hello Friends! I'm Kellie and I'm so glad you've found your way to Little Blue Bow Photography.
- I live in sunny San Diego and share a wonderful life with my husband, Jason, our two adorable redheads and two crazy pups.
- My college years were spent studying art, design, composition and balance- all key components to a great photograph.
- I also studied child development (interesting combination, right?) I love talking and interacting with children, they are truly some of my favorite models. I love capturing their genuine smiles and personality.
- Leave your "Cheese" at home! I will burst out in a silly (terrible!) song or dance to make your kiddos laugh. Genuine smiles and emotion is what I strive to capture. You will never hear the words "say cheese" come from me, I promise.
- Preparing for your Photo Session:
- Matching outfits are a thing of the past! Texture, layers and accessories really make an outfit POP! Pick two complimentary colors, or stick with a neutral palette, and play around with subtle patterns and layers to create a comfortable look that shows off your personalities. Add in a couple accessories, and you have yourself a polished looking ensemble! The key is moderation; not too many competing textures, patterns or accessories. One of my main suggestions is to make sure everyone looks like they are in the same season. A strapless summer dress is going to look out of balance if the other family members are in fall sweaters. San Diego weather is mild and we are usually able to wear spring and summer clothing year round, just make sure it's cohesive with everyone being photographed. Need wardrobe ideas? Spring Inspiration: https://www.pinterest.com/LittleBlueBowPhotography/what-to-wear-spring/ - Ladies, you will be walking, sitting and possibly laying down. If you want to wear heels, I suggest bringing an additional pair of sandals or shoes that you can change into quickly. Shoes and socks are important (except at the beach, bare feet are best!!) While I encourage you to let your personal style show, old dirty sneakers or neon velcro kid's shoes will stick out like a sore thumb. You can find simple and inexpensive shoes that will photograph well or some people borrow from friends because we know our kids grow out of their shoes at super speeds! While in sitting poses socks will show, so keep that in mind when coordinating your outfits.
- I love pets! If you want your pup in your family photo, please bring him! I recommend bringing a friend or additional family member to be in charge of your dog, cat, turtle or guinea pig after their Hollywood moment in front of the camera. Please keep in mind that some locations have strict no-animal policy and I will always adhere to local rules and regulations.
- I have a 3 week turn around time for editing portrait sessions. You can purchase a 3 day rush order for $150. (This time-frame does not apply to holidays or weddings.)
