I love when my past brides and grooms send me their engaged friends! This is the absolute best tip that I receive and having happy Blue Bow wedding clients is the greatest feeling in the world! This is how I came to meet one of my wonderful September couples, Nicole and Keith! (Thank you Kristina and Chris for the awesome referral!) We met at Nicole's favorite coffee house, Kaffee Meister in Santee, and chatted about their upcoming wedding at Cottonwood Golf Course. Nicole shared her ideas of soft rustic details enhanced with purple hues and soft metallics. Even with all her descriptions, it did not prepare me for just how gorgeous everything would come together. Their wedding was not only beautiful, but incredibly thought out with homemade details. They saved money and had their flowers and wedding bouquets made by the florists at Vons, which turned out absolutely gorgeous! At 30,000 feet in the air, their love story began. On a flight to Vegas to watch the San Diego State basketball team play, Keith struck up a conversation with the beautiful blonde sitting next to him. Little did he know that she was also a huge sports fan and the rest is history! Their love story is full of sporting events, fun with friends, a supportive family, one lucky puppy and an absolutely breathtaking DIY wedding. Take a look at some of my favorite moments from Nicole and Keith's wedding at Cottonwood Golf Club. What a stunning diamond! Nicole had all of her wedding flowers and bouquets made by Vons. Yes, Vons! I was beyond impressed. Nicole, you belong in a magazine! Nicole purchased her dress from BHLDN and had the staff at Sparrow Bridal add on removable sleeves. I love how Keith's tie complemented the metallic touches throughout the wedding decor. So handsome! Nicole designed every printed detail from their wedding. Talk about a DIY bride! Nicole and her mom made this wonderful arbor. One of my favorite reactions from the groom when he sees his bride walking down the aisle! The sunset light at Cottonwood was amazing! I love this emotion during their wedding slideshow. Nicole follows a special diet and had a gluten free wedding cake made by Peace Pies in Ocean Beach. Nicole and Keith, your love story may have begun in the air, but it's one of the most grounded loves I've witnessed. You are the type of people that inspire others to look for love in the most unexpected places. I'm honored to have been invited into your lives to capture your first day as husband and wife. This is just the beginning for you two. You have so many great things ahead... (By the way thank you Nicole, Kaffee Meister is now one of my favorite java joints too!) Missy and Joshua - Scripps Seaside Forum Wedding in La Jolla
It's finally January! If you're a photographer, you know what that means :)
I've survived the busy season of fall weddings and holiday portrait sessions and now I finally get to share all the beauty that's been in front of my camera these past few months! Eeeeek! There is so much gorgeousness coming your way :) Missy and Josh's beachside wedding is the PERFECT wedding to start the new year of blogging. One word sums it up: Gorgeous! Jewel tones and sparkles. Ocean breezes and shimmering sands. This wedding was more than beautiful. Every single detail was personal and meticulously thought out. They exchanged vows overlooking the La Jolla coastline and danced the night away as the sun dipped under the horizon. The night's not complete without something sweet! Missy and Josh chose to have an elaborately decadent dessert table structured around a Krispy Kreme donut bar, yes... donut bar. It was *almost too pretty to eat, but you better believe my assistants and I snagged a couple yummy treats!! Take a look at some of my favorite images from this vibrant, shimmering, absolutely stunning wedding day! :)
Missy described her wedding decor so perfectly: " ... Josh and I were inspired by the colors of nature that surround us daily. Our jewel tone color palette was the first thing we agreed on, the mixtures of metallic reminds me of the shimmer you see in the sand. The garlands with bright blooms remind me of Washington in the Spring and Summer and pops of oranges remind me of fall. The bougainvillea on our arch was a reminder of home, they grow wild in San Diego and when I'm home they are the plant I find more beautiful and full of color and life. Trendee Flowers did an excellent job interpreting our vision and presented us with the most amazing set up we could have ever imagined."
The crowd went crazy for Missy and her sisters' version of Love Shack! Such a fun time!!
Missy and Josh, thank you so much for the opportunity to witness the true meaning of love. There is no doubt in my mind that you two are meant for each other and that you have the most amazing marriage ahead of you!
